Jesse Taylor vs. Tim Credeur
Jesse shoots in very early, and Tim falls into guard without much resistance. Tim tries to slide out for an arm bar but is unsuccessful. The next two minutes are spent with Jesse landing short, sometimes firm, punches from the guard, while Tim tries to prevent Jesse from posturing up to land bigger blows. With three minutes remaining in theround, Tim secures an arm-bar attempt from the bottom, but after a few tense moments, Jesse is able to pull his head out and avoid a triangle attempt while returning to Tim's guard.
The round continues with Tim trying to control Jesse from the bottom, but the strikes from Jesse are beginning to land a bit more squarely. Tim moves briefly to butterfly guard at the urging of his coaches but falls quickly back to guard. Another arm-bar attempt transitions into a triangle for Tim, but Jesse defends well. Perhaps Tim's defense advice to Jesse earlier was ill-advised.
Jesse continues to land a steady flow of ground and pound as the round comes to an end. Jesse seems to have taken the first round 10-9.
